Everyone Needs a Hooded Unicorn Blanket in Their Lives!

THE PROOF IS IN THE RESEARCH

If you have been looking for the perfect gift to give that special little (or big!) girl in your life, then look no further! Market research has shown that girls with hooded unicorn blankets are 182.4 times happier than those without. Of course, BriAbby market research consists of watching the reaction of one super adorable little girl as she wraps herself up in its fluffy goodness. My daughter doesn’t know yet that this blanket that I asked her to model is for her (I’m saving it to give to her for Christmas) and has asked me a gazillion times if she can have it. Good thing she doesn’t read my blog or I would totally be ruining the surprise!

This blanket is super comfy cozy and is great for so many different things like. . .

Cuddling up with a good book. . . .

Pretending to be a unicorn vampire? . . .

Letting people know you mean business . . .

Sinking deep down into a love sac so you look like you only have half a body . . .

Or just folding up and leaving out on display!

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO MAKE THE BEST GIFT EVER!

I have to admit that in my unicorn lovey blog post I called that the best gift ever. Well, I need to retract that statement because this is now the best gift ever! FOR MY CHUNKY YARN blanket (the pink one) I used a gorgeous yarn called Toy Box (from Premier Yarns!). They have so many fun variegated colors as well that I want to figure out a project for. Premier Yarns is offering 10% off through 10/5/17 using code JM001 at www.premieryarns.com. You will need 1100 yards for small child, 1800 yards for large child & 2650 yards for teen/adult. I also used a thinner worsted weight yarn (Caron Simply Soft – Soft Green, Orchid, Country Peach, Black, White & Berry Blue) for the border and details on the hood to keep it lighter. One skein is enough for all sizes. FOR MY WORSTED WEIGHT blanket I used I Love This Yarn in Ivory. You will need 1430 yards for small child, 2180 yards for large child & 3330 yards for teen/adult. For the border and hood details I used a thinner worsted weight (Lion Brand Heartland in Guadalupe Mountains & Denali as well as Caron Simply Soft in Black, White & Chocolate). One skein is enough for all sizes. You will also need Polyester Stuffing (very small amount), a tapestry needle with large eye & Pins (which are optional for placing pieces before sewing, but I highly recommend this!)
