The Perfect Crochet Pig Hat Pattern Release!

YOU’VE BEEN SEARCHING FOR THE PERFECT CROCHET PIG HAT ALL YOUR LIFE. . . AND NOW YOU HAVE FOUND IT!

Alright, this is a little braggy, but I think this hat is the perfect combination of simple and absolutely adorable! It’s easy to make, works up quickly and yet can still get that, “Awww, that is so cute! You are so talented!” response from people. Also, pigs are universally loved so this is a great one to give as a gift or stock up on for craft fairs.

ADD A COUPLE OF THINGS AND SUDDENLY YOU HAVE THE PERFECT PIG COSTUME

So with Halloween coming up, obviously I’ve been thinking about how these could be turned into a cute Halloween costume. My daughter has gone from pumpkin (which I begged her to rethink), to witch, to pig, to “I’m not sure what I want to be”. If she does pig though, I thought I could make a tutu out of tulle and found these cute leg warmers on amazon. I’m a big fan of ruffles! I think I would also make up two extra bows to sew on to them.

Or if you don’t like making your own tutus, I found this adorable kid’s tutu on amazon!

TURN IT INTO A GIFT SET FOR YOUR KIDS/GRANDKIDS OR A BABY SHOWER

I am a big fan of sets (in case you can’t already tell from looking around my site). I think making kid hats to match a stuffed animal or lovey is so much fun. So if you’re like me and interested in creating the set, check out my matching stuffed pig pattern.

WHAT’S IT GOING TO TAKE TO MAKE THESE HATS?

For my crochet pig hat I used I Love This Yarn & it required less than 1 ball of the main color and much less than one ball for the accent color. You are welcome to use any brand of worsted weight yarn. I also used Caron Simply Soft for the detail work (which I always do and recommend everyone else do! Red Heart Soft works well too). You will also need a tiny bit of Polyester Fiberfill.
