My son has been patiently waiting for me to finish his EPIC Easter basket that I started for him two years ago. I can’t really justify why it took me so long to finish. I made the base of the basket, but had started too close to Easter to finish the rest 2 years ago. And once Easter had passed, I decided to move on to other patterns I was excited to finish and then could finish up the dragon basket before the next Easter. Well, guess who forgot it needed to be finished? So yet another Easter came and went with only the base for my son to use.
See how sad his basket is compared to his siblings? Luckily he was a good sport about it. He is, however, much more excited about using his new and improved Dragon basket this year! He basically thinks it’s the coolest basket ever. . . and I’m not going to argue with that!
It definitely is going to get him some fun attention at egg hunts, but you know what’s great about my kids? The thing that seems to be most important to my kids is not how fun it is to get attention, but that their mom made them something so unique, just for them. I know some of the stuff I make for them they are going to grow out of, but I sure hope I can keep coming up with things to crochet for them throughout their lives that continues to make them feel special!
