- 11 & 12 pages long
THINGS YOU WILL NEED:
- Hooks: You will need a 6 mm (J) hook and if you make the chunky blanket you will need a 9 mm (M) hook IF YOUR GAUGE MATCHES MINE! You do not need to match my gauge if you don’t care how big your blanket turns out but yarn amounts will be different and your hood might be too big!
- Yarn: You are welcome to use any brand of yarn, but it’s helpful to check your gauge before beginning if you don’t want your blanket and hood to turn out overly large (or small!). For a tip on how to save time when checking your gauge, check out my blog post entitled “Becoming a Master Gauge Checker: It’s a stinky job, but somebody’s gotta do it. . .”
- FOR BULKY TEDDY I suggest Hometown USA. For the main color you will need 980 yards for small, 1525 yards for medium & 2125 yards for large.
- FOR BULKY PANDA I used Bernat Pipsqueak for the white part. You will need 750 yards for small, 1050 yards for medium & 1500 yards for large. It’s held together with Caron Simply Soft in White (780 yards for small, 1100 yards for medium & 1575 yards for large). For the black part I used Premier Parfait (192 yards for small, 340 yards for medium & 540 yards for large) held together with Caron Simply Soft (250 yards for small, 425 yards for medium & 600 yards for large). If you don’t want to do this furry option, you can just buy a single category 6 yarn and reference the yardage for the Caron Simply Soft.
- FOR WORSTED WEIGHT TEDDY I used Vanna’s Choice Yarn. For the main color you will need 1250 yards for small, 2052 yards for medium & 3078 yards for large.
- FOR WORSTED WEIGHT PANDA I recommend I Love This Yarn. In white you will need 940 yards for small, 1530 yards for medium & 2300 for large and in black you will need 300 yards for small, 525 yards for medium & 785 yards for large.
- Polyester Stuffing (very small amount) & tapestry needle with large eye
- Pins are optional for placing pieces before sewing (I highly recommend this!)
