This crochet dragon pattern does not make for a quick project, but you will extremely proud of what you’ve accomplished when you’re finished. Everyone will be amazed at what you can create with some yarn, a hook & some stuffing. With these detailed instructions, even those with little crochet experience can find success creating their own masterpieces!
CROCHET DRAGON PATTERN DETAILS:
- Size: This magnificent creature measures 33” long and has a wingspan of 24”.

THINGS YOU WILL NEED:
- Hooks: You will need a 4 mm (G), 5 mm (H) & 5.5 mm (I) hook IF YOUR GAUGE MATCHES MINE! You may not need to use every hook size listed. Hook sizes depend on what size hat you make, but all sizes require an I hook for the hat base.
- Yarn: I used regular worsted weight yarn (Red Heart Super Saver) for the majority of the dragon. For the detail work, I like to use a thinner worsted weight like Caron Simply Soft or Red Heart Soft. You are welcome to use any brand of yarn as long as you check your gauge before beginning.
